October 22, 2009, New York City, Yonkers. Same day at 10 am, Gucci creative director Frida Giannini and the Grammy award-winning artists together for the newly completed MaryJ.Blige to Mary J. Blige, named “Mary J. Blige women’s center” cut the ribbon. Foundation for the Advancement of WomenNow (FFAWN) founder Steve Stoute, and Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) of Alan Trager also joined the ranks of Blige and Giannini together for this focus on the struggle for equal rights of young women at the center of the opening ceremony.
